Translation
Tomlex carries out translations for different agencies around the world but takes on jobs from clients directly as well. Accepted formats are: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, XML, plain text, scans and hard copy.
Where appropriate, SDLX is used during the translation process and we always create a glossary for each client so that terminology will be consistent throughout the project as well as in future jobs.

Subtitling
Subtitling work can be carried out with or without a source language or other language spotting list and with or without a script.
Subtitling is usually only done for agencies as specialist equipment and/or preparation of the files is required. Tomlex works with Swift subtitling software (versions 4, 5 and 6), which requires digital clips (MPEG and AVI). Files can be delivered in .o32, .x32, .stl, .pac, .890, .sif, .doc, .rtf, .txt formats or exported for DVD in various formats.

Proofreading & Editing
Own translations are always proofread and checked for spelling, grammar, punctuation, typesetting, terminology, register and style. Where necessary, target texts are edited to comply with space or time restrictions, such as in translations of voice-over scripts or newsletter segments.
Tomlex can also proofread and edit work of other translators. This can be done with the source text for comparison or as a single language edit to ensure the target text produced appears as if written in that language originally.

Transcription
Sometimes only an audio or video file is available while clients need a written version of it. Tomlex can provide speedy (time coded) transcriptions, combined with a translation if necessary.
